Anatomy Of The Fetus

Anatomical Models Of The Female Reproductive Organs During Pregnancy Fetus At Five Months, In Breech Presentation. At Five Months Of Pregnanacy, The Womb Has Reached The Size Of A Melon; The Fetus Measures 25 To 30 Cm And Weighs Between 200 And 550 G. Its Body Is Already Well Formed, And Its Head Is Proportionally Less Voluminous Than Previously. Its Genitalia Is Fully Formed And Visible. The Fetus 10 Floats In The Amniotic Fluid That Fills The Amniotic Cavity. The Latter Is Surrounded By A Membrane, The Amnion 11, White, To Which The Chorion Purplish Grey Is Attached. The Umbilical Cord Red Links The Fetus To The Placenta. The Placenta Consists Mainly Of A Fetal Surface, Composed Of Tissue Originating In The Fetus Itself 8A, The Chorion, And Of A Maternal Surface, The Basal Decidua 8B, Red; Its Multiple Blood Vessels Enable The Exchange Of Vital Substances Between The Foetus And The Mother. The Interior Of The Uterine Lining, Or Endometrium, 7 Is Covered By A Mucous Membrane, The Decidua 14, In Red That Will Be Shed Along With The Placenta At Parturition. The Infundibulum Of Each Fallopian Tube Red, Bordered With Fringe Like Structures, Covers Each Ovary 5, Yellow. A Ligament Also Attaches The Latter Directly To The Womb. The Fallopian Tubes Are Connected To A Duct Pink Leading To The Interion Of The Uterine Cavity. At The Cervix 2, A Residual Vestige Of The Uterine Cavity Remains 13, That Has Elsewhere Been Deplaced By The Fetus And The Embryo Fetal Membranes. It Connects To The Vagina 1.
