GREENSBORO, NC — April 29, 1956: Action during the NASCAR Convertible race at Greensboro Fairgrounds has the No. 22 Ford of Glen Wood leading the Buick of Bill Cornwall (No. 83), Tom Pistone’s Chevrolet (No. 5) and the Dodge of Don Oldenberg (No. 86). Wood was the only one of the quartet to finish the race, coming in third behind winner Bob Welborn. Only five of the 22 starters were still running at the end.
