Nuclear icebreaker Lenin sits tied up at a moorage of the Russian northern port city of Murmansk on May 19, 2018. - A Soviet nuclear-powered icebreaker (1957) was both the world's first nuclear-powered surface ship and the first nuclear-powered civilian vessel. The ship had 32,4 MegaWatts power unit, equalled to 44.000 Horse powers. Lenin was operating from 1959 till 1989, and worked clearing sea routes for cargo ships along Russia's northern coast.
