(Original Caption) Princeton University scientists disclosed Nov. 15 that with the help of an electronic brain they have been able to produce a mathematical slow-motion picture of how an atom splits. The work was done in New York on the huge Selective Sequence Electronic Calculator of the International Business Machines Corporation (IBM), under the direction of Prof. John A. Wheeler, atomic scientist, and Dr. David Hill, now Associate Professor of Physics at Vanderbilt University. Robert R. Seeber, Jr., co-inventor of the calculator, and Mr. Hill, observe results at the machine's printing units.
