The First Major Forest Fire Of 2023 In Castellon Is Still Active.

The progress of the Great Forest Fire (GIF) declared in Villanueva de Viver (Castellon) on Thursday, March 23, is still active and affects almost 4,000 hectares between Castellon and Teruel, with a perimeter of 40 kilometers. More than 500 troops are working today to try to control the fire, which has forced the evacuation of a dozen villages. The team made up of 22 aerial and 28 terrestrial means is still working on the fire extinction tasks. So far, 1800 people from eight towns have been evacuated.
