Liguria, Italy - November, 2021. Noli is a small town located in the province of Savona. From 1192 to 1797 it was the capital of the homonymous republic which, although linked to the fate of the Republic of Genoa and other local centers of power, enjoyed at times a certain formal autonomy. The town has a population of about 2,429 inhabitants. Noli is situated on the coast of the Riviera di Ponente, in a cove closed to the east by the Island of Bergeggi and to the southwest by Cape Ursino at the mouth of the Luminella stream. The town is famous for its medieval walls that enclose its historic center full of treasures that tell its past as a strong and proud Fifth Maritime Republic, always allied with nearby Genoa.
