New York Representative Elise Stefanik says at a news conference after House passage of the fiscal 2018 defense authorization that representing the Tenth Mountain Division that the bill increases readiness, ensures that servicemembers are trained and equipped, that she is proud of stronger warfare capabilities in the bill, enables special operations around the globe and authorizes counterterrorism, unconventional war and weapons of mass destruction programs. Ohio Congressman Brad Wenstrup says the greatest fighting force in the history of freedom had been weakened and diminished over recent years, that having served a year as a combat surgeon in Iraq, having the equipment and training needed is crucial to success.
