Senator Schumer Concerns with Trump National Security Council

New York Senator Chuck Schumer takes the Senate floor to discuss his concerns with how White House Chief Strategist Steven Bannon was given broad influence through a seat on the National Security Council and the composition of top officials during the first months of the Trump administration. Schumer says the president should rely on advice from the intelligence community, and advisers group managed a white nationalist website, referring to Bannon as one of the most strident ideological voices in his orbit. Schumer says that Lieutenant Herb McMaster will have the grounding presence in the national security apparatus at the White House, he has met and has respect for him, but remains concerned that the fevered dreams of Bannon would interfere with the most sensitive national security discussions and decisions of President Trump.
