A Wheelchair User’s Tour Of Tokyo’s Famed Asakusa District

A video narrated in English by Barry Joshua Grisdale, the creator of the Accesible Japan website, shows how Tokyo’s popular Asakusa district can be enjoyed both from a wheelchair and a rickshaw at the same time. Originally from Canada, the 38-year-old Grisdale has taken on Japanese citizenship and compiled information for recommendations for visitors with disabilities to the country. After enjoying a local sweet, Grisdale takes a ride on a rickshaw costing 9,000 yen for a 30-minute tour for two. Setting a ramp for a wheelchair, however, incurs an additional cost of 8,000 yen.
