Japanese Designer On World Tour To Paint Peace Messages On Walls

CAIRO, EGYPT - JAN. 13: A Japanese designer is on his world tour to send his messages for peace by painting pictures on the walls. In a downtown Cairo neighborhood close to pyramids, Shinichiro Higashi, from Kagoshima, southern Japan, drew a large pair of pigeons each with a branch of rose flower in the beaks. Higashi also wrote "love and peace" in English and "world peace" and "love and flower" in Japanse. Residents in the neighborhood came out and gathered around the wall, and one boy said he can feel Higashi's strong wish for peace. The 45-year-old Japanese artist says he paints birds and flowers with a hope that they would replace hatreds and that conflicts such as in Syria to end very soon. He started the painting tour last year in New Delhi, India, and continues to visit other cities including Melbourne, Australia and Seoul, South Korea this year.
