A juicer puts Lime scooters in spots at Peoples Park in Bloomington, Indiana

October 25, 2018; Bloomington, Indiana: Lime scooter juicer Doug Kramer (independent contractor) puts Lime scooters in spots at Peoples Park in Bloomington, Indiana. The gig economy worker, Kramer, said that he started with Pace bicycles but when the scooters arrived he began juicing both Bird scooters, and Lime Scooters, and has to charge as many as 12 Limes, and 20 Birds at a time to make it worthwhile. The scooters arrived several weeks ago in Bloomington by the hundreds, and are now often used by students at Indiana University. The scooter riders fill the streets and sidewalks, day and night, zipping past and around cars and pedestrians, and a few weeks ago the university began impounding some illegally parked scooters, and demanding a 50 dollar fine for each. Last weekend a student crashed a scooter and was hospitalized with a head injury.
