Prince Harry tour of duty in Afghanistan

Prince Harry tour of duty in Afghanistan; Prince Harry interview SOT Q: Is that juggling, and that conflict going to become increasingly more difficult as your get older? A: I don't think it's going to become more difficult. The balance may be swayed a little bit. Now that I'm qualified in this aircraft, all I have to do is stay current, and make sure that I spend enough time in work. I'm not a sort of half-time Army officer. This is my full-time job. It's the other stuff that I will fill in the gaps. And obviously later in life that will become more of a thing for me. A: That completely depends on where we end up. It is great being out here. I'm with a great group of people. It's away from all the media back home which is, which is one of the real negative points about the UK, I suppose. Being out here is fantastic, even when the weather's pants. But I'd also like to take this opportunity just to thank everybody else, the general public back home. We, as a squadron, and myself, have received parcels from random people. No connection at all, maybe they live in Ipswich. Maybe within the Suffolk community. People have sent out cakes, cards, presents, all sorts and it's a huge morale boost. And if it's a morale boost for us in Bastion, where we get everyday home comforts, the guys on the ground, especially around Christmas time, the parcels is quite astronomical. It's fantastic to see so much support, and keep it coming. We're going to be here until 2014, and maybe a little bit longer, and as long as the guys are out on the ground, the support needs to keep coming. Q: Moving on to another aspect of your life, the charitable work. What's in the pipeline for you in terms of the charities that you're going to be supporting? You're obviously patron to a few. How do you see ...
