Life in Kinshasa Congo

About sixteen thousands soldiers from many different countries are stationed in Congo, DRC. The mission is called MONUC and they have been in Congo since end of 1999, after the Lusaka Ceasefire Agreement was signed in July 1999. Kinshasa, a city of about eight million people is battling with bad infrastructure and no public transport. Congo, DRC is in ruins after forty years of mismanagement by the corrupt dictator and former president Mobuto Sese Seko. He fled the country in 1997 and a civil war started.
