Displaced Palestinians in Khan Younis trying to return homes during humanitarian pause

KHAN YOUNIS, GAZA, PALESTINE - NOVEMBER 24: As a humanitarian pause came into effect in Gaza early on Friday, Nov. 24, displaced Palestinians in Khan Younis began return to their homes. Israeli army killed a Palestinian man and injured several others while people were trying to move from south of Gaza towards their homes in north. Israeli tanks were also deployed on the roads in southern Gaza Strip to prevent people from heading north. The four-day humanitarian pause between the Israeli army and Hamas came into effect on Friday morning in all areas of the Gaza Strip, temporarily stopping attacks for prisoner exchange and aid. The pause commenced at 7 a.m. local time (0500GMT). Israel estimates that at least 239 Israelis are being held by Hamas following the cross-border attack by the Palestinian group on Oct. 7.
