Palestinian Embassy In Lisbon Updates Its Plaque To Reflect Portugal's Official Recognition

LISBON, PORTUGAL - OCTOBER 31: New "Embaixada do Estado da Palestina" plaque is unveiled at the Palestinian Embassy in Lisbon, to mark Portugal's political declaration recognising the State of Palestine as a sovereign state with full rights, on October 31, 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal. Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel announced on September 21 in New York, United States, the government's decision to recognize the State of Palestine after the agreement reached between the President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and “the vast majority of parties with seats in parliament.” Portugal thus joined the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, which announced their decision earlier in the day, becoming the 13th country in the European Union to recognise the Palestinian state.
