Title "World Series" superimposed over player running bases / crowds in stands /politician James F Byrnes, surrounded by group of men, throws first ball of October 6 game, the men react comically / stadium and field viewed from above third base line / controversial 8th inning: Cleveland Indians pitcher Bob Feller throws ball / Boston Braves' catcher Bill Salkeld at bat is walked, he tosses bat & heads to first base /view from behind home plate: Mike McCormick makes sacrifice bunt, is tagged out at first by Feller / elder woman fan cheers / Feller pitches to catcher Jim Hegan outside batter box, batter Eddie Stanky walked, tosses bat & heads to first / crowd in stands / Tommy Holmes at bat / pitcher Feller tries to pick runner Phil Masi off 2nd base, shortstop Lou Boudreau tags Masi, umpire Bill Stewart calls him safe / fans sit down / Holmes hits ball into left field, Masi rounds third and home for winning run / elder lady stands cheering / WS crowd in stands / 9th inning VS: Ken Keltner gets base hit, Johnny Sain pitcher strikes out Walter Judnich to end game / Braves on field in victory and into dugout // October 7 second game: VS fans in stands / Indians' Bob Lemon pitching / Al Dark hits ball, runs to 1st / Earl Torgeson hits ball starts to 1st as Dark runs to 3rd /crowd cheers / Boston Bob Elliott hits ball, runs to 1st, pan to Dark running home from 3rd / man wearing glasses & hat excitedly tugs arm of younger man standing next to him, gives sheepish grin & stops when young man glares at him / Warren Spahn pitches to Lou Boudreau, hits ball runs to 1st / crowd cheers / Boudreau rounds 1st on way to 2nd /Cleveland's Joe "Flash" Gordon hits ball runs to base / high shot field as Boudreau runs home and Gordon reaches 2nd / glasses man looks disgusted and pulls his hat over his ears / Spahn pitches / Larry Doby hits, runs to 1st, pan as ball flies into left field and Gordon rounds 3rd heading to home / high shot: Gordon crosses home plate
